Skills, mad and otherwise, will all be dictated by similar rules. For each skill set the user will be given a number that dictates their potential in each area.

Ninjutsu: (忍術, Literally meaning: Ninja Techniques), is a term referring to almost any technique which allows the user to do something that they otherwise would be incapable of doing, including the usage of weapons. Unlike genjutsu, which makes the opponent see illusions, the effects of ninjutsu are real. They vary greatly in purpose, with the simpler ninjutsu serving such tasks as transforming the user or allowing them to evade attacks. These techniques are often second-nature for experienced shinobi, who can use them at will. More complex ninjutsu manipulate one's surroundings or utilise the elements, respectively serving such tasks as healing others or manipulating nature transformations.
Genjutsu: Genjutsu (幻術, Literally meaning: Illusionary Techniques) is one of the main jutsu categories. Like ninjutsu, genjutsu requires chakra and hand seals to be performed. Unlike ninjutsu, the effects of genjutsu are not real, being only illusions experienced by those who fall victim to it.
Taijutsu: Taijutsu (体術, Literally meaning: Body Techniques) is a basic form of techniques and refers to any techniques involving the martial arts or the optimisation of natural human abilities. Taijutsu is executed by directly accessing the user's physical and mental energies, relying on the stamina and strength gained through training. It typically does not require chakra, though chakra may be used to enhance its techniques. Taijutsu generally requires no hand seals to perform, occasionally making use of certain stances or poses, and are far quicker to use than ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is simply put: hand-to-hand combat.
Bukijutsu: Bukijutsu (武器術, Literally meaning: Weapon Techniques) are techniques that entail the use of any handheld weapons in combat, whether the users be shinobi or samurai. Students of the Academy are taught the use of ninja weapons and tools like shuriken and kunai, learning how to throw and wield them through target practice.
Fuuinjutsu: (封印術, Literally meaning: Sealing Techniques) are a type of jutsu that seal objects, living beings, chakra, along with a wide variety of other things within another object. Fūinjutsu can also be used to restrict movement or unseal objects either from within something or someone.
Kekkai Genkai: Kekkai Genkai is the legendary bloodline trait. Leveling up this stat allows you to use your family's Jutsu with the same pattern as raising the Ninjutsu stat. Other abilities will vary from clan to clan.

Juinjutsu: Juinjutsu (呪印術, Viz: Curse Mark Jutsu, Literally meaning: Cursed Seal Techniques) are a type of techniques used to bring someone under the control of the user. By applying a seal to the victim's body, the user brings the victim's abilities and actions under his/her control. With a simple secret hand seal, the user can inflict great mental and physical torment on the victim. The exact workings of juinjutsu are kept secret.

- Medical Ninjutsu (医療忍術, Iryō Ninjutsu, Literally meaning: Medical Ninja Techniques) is a branch of ninjutsu associated with healing, as well as the manipulation of their own, or anothers' body, practised by shinobi categorised as "medical-nin". The use of medical ninjutsu requires very advanced chakra control, as well as extensive knowledge on such things as herbs, medicines, the human body and even poisons.

- Kenjutsu: (剣術, Literally meaning: Sword Technique) pertains to techniques that entail the use of swords, whether the users be shinobi, or samurai. Kenjutsu can be used in combination with taijutsu, ninjutsu, fūinjutsu, chakra flow and even genjutsu in order to achieve more devastating techniques.
Shurikenjutsu: (手裏剣術, Literally meaning: sword hidden in the hand techniques) pertains to techniques that entail the throwing of shuriken, kunai, senbon, or any other of a number of bladed, hand-held weapons. Shurikenjutsu can be used in combination with taijutsu, ninjutsu, and/or chakra flow in order to create more devastating techniques.
Kyujutsu: (弓術, Literally meaning: Bow Technique), another technique rarely seen in the ninja world, is one where the user will utilise a bow and arrow to attack targets from long-range.
Tessenjutsu: (鉄扇術, Literally meaning: Iron-fan Technique), is the martial art of the Japanese war fan. It is based on the use of the solid iron fan or the folding iron fan. They are extremely durable and as weapons, are not made out of materials that a normal fan would be, thus, their use can applied in various manners ranging from long to short-ranged attacks. It would appear that tessenjutsu is commonly taught within Sunagakure.
Kugujutsu: (傀儡, Kugutsu) are used as weapons by puppeteers. They are most often humanoid-looking creations, but depending on the creator, can resemble anything. They are fashioned in a manner that uses every part as a weapon, giving the puppeteer a myriad of ways to manipulate it. Puppets are long-ranged type weapons that can be used offensively, defensively or for supplementary reasons, and are controlled via Chakra Threads. Because of their design, the weak point of any puppet is its joints. There are two types of puppets: ones made from material such as wood, and Human Puppets.
Bojutsu: (棒術, Literally meaning: Staff Techniques) are techniques that involve the use of staffs for close-range fighting.
Kayakujutsu: (火薬術, Literally meaning: Gunpowder Techniques) are techniques that involve the use of explosives. A common variation of kayakujutsu is the usage of explosive tags. Often shinobi will attach these detonating tags to their weapons (usually a kunai) in order to make them deadlier.

* Skill boosts do not stack. You cannot get a 5 in Nin and Gen for over 300 Chakra boosts. You get to take the higher boost.
* This also applies to physical boosts from Taijutsu and certain Bukijutsu.
* The highest boost for each stat will be the one applied.
* Weapon discounts for Buki users will only be forced when the purchase is from an NPC shop keeper.
* If a stat boost will cause a second 6/5, it will be negated.
* At no time may you have more than one skill reach a six. Once one hits six no others can.
* A Genin starts with two skill points to allocate.
*A Chuunin starts with four skill points to allocate.
* A Special Jounin starts with eight skill points to allocate.
* A Jounin starts with 12 skill points to allocate.
* An S Rank Shinobi starts with 16 skill points to allocate.

1. E and D Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at average cost, and C Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at double the cost. B Rank Ninjutsu is available to you at quadruple the cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of fifteen.
2. E, D, and C Rank Jutsu are available to you at normal Chakra cost, B Rank Ninjutsu is available to you at double the usual cost, and A Rank Ninjutsu is available to you at quadruple the usual cost. You will get a Chakra Pool boost of thirty.
3. E Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at half the regular cost. D, C, and B Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at regular cost. A Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at double the regular cost, and S Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at quadruple the original cost. You will receive a Chakra Pool boost of sixty.
4. E, D, and C Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at half the regular cost. B and A Rank Ninjtsu are available at regular cost. S Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at double the original cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of ninety.
5. E, D, C, and B Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at half the normal Chakra cost. A and S Rank Ninjutsu are available to you at normal Chakra cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of 150.
6. All Ninjutsu ranked lower than S is available at half the normal Chakra cost and you are given a Chakra Pool boost of 200.
- Medical Ninjtsu:
- 0. You can do basic first aid and dress wounds. This is taught in the Ninja Academy. You won't understand poisons or antidotes.
1. You can use up to D Rank Medical Ninjutsu. You know a bit more than most about the human body at this point. You know the systems of the organs. This requires a Ninjutsu of two. This will effect your surgery chances. You can use D Rank Poisons and Medicines. You get a boost of ten to your Chakra Pool.
2. You can use up to B Rank Medical Ninjutsu. You are very well versed on the human body. You can work as a medic, knowing the basics of each bodily system. This has an effect on your surgeries. A three in Ninjutsu is needed for this. You can use Rank B Poisons and medicines. You get a boost of twenty to your Chakra Pool.
3. You can use any S Rank Medical Ninjutsu, Medicines, or Poisons. You may use S Rank Medical Ninjutsu and this, of course, influences your chances of successful surgeries. You get a boost of thirty to your Chakra Pool.
- Genjutsu:
- 0. You may use no Genjutsu techniques.
1. You may use E and D Rank Genjutsu at regular cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of five.
2. You may use E, D, and C Rank Genjutsu at regular cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of fifteen.
3. You may use E Rank Genjutsu at half of regular cost, and D, C, and B Rank Genjutsu at regular cost. You get a Chakra Boost of thirty.
4. You may use E and D Rank Genjutsu at half of regular cost and C, B, or A Rank Genjutsu at regular cost. You get a Chakra Boost of sixty.
5. You may use E, D, and C Rank Genjutsu at half of regular cost and B, A, or S Rank Genjutsu at regular cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of 120.
6. You may use any Genjutsu at or below B Rank at half regular cost. You get a Chakra Pool boost of 180.
- Taijutsu:
- 0. You have the fighting skills of a regular human being. You can throw kicks and punches.
1. You are getting better and have some basic Martial Arts skills. You may start on more Bukijutsu than had you not taken this, you may use D Rank Taijutsu, and all of your physical stats go up by ten.
2. One may say that at this point you are a bit more than a brawler. Instead of the basic punches and kicks you are now capable of more impressive moves like sweeps, jabs, and palm thrusts. You may use C Rank Taijutsu and all of your physical stats go up by twenty. You may disarm regular Shinobi using a weapon.
3. You can use more impressive skills now. You can block any Taijutsu used by a user with a less speed and less Taijutsu skill. Durability still plays a roll. Blocking doesn't mean your arm will be fine. You may use B Rank Taijutsu. You may disarm Bukijutsu users with a 1 in their weapon stat. You get a boost of thirty in each physical stat.
4. You are at an amazing level now. You can block any Taijutsu used at a lower speed or Taijutsu rank. Durability is, of course, still a factor. You may disarm a Rank 2 Bukijutsu user and use A Rank Taijutsu. You get a boost of forty to each physical stat.
5. You may now call yourself a master of physical combat. You can now use S Rank Taijutsu and you can disarm a Rank 3 Bukijutsu user. your physical stats are all boosted by fifty points. Bojutsu, Kyujutsu, Shurikenjutsu and Kenjutsu stats goes up by one.
6. You are a Grand Master in Taijutsu. You are capable of disarming a Rank 4 Bukijutsu user, and all of your stats are boosted by sixty. Bojutsu, Kyujutsu, Shurikenjutsu, and Kenjutsu stats goes up by two.
- Kenjutsu:
- 0. You can use a sword, but extremely clumsily. If you block it will lead to you dropping your sword. You may use no actual sword techniques. You will be allowed to purchase an E rank blade, which is wooden.
1. To unlock this a 1 in Taijutsu is required. You may used D Rank Kenjutsu techniques, but not make your own. You may block against weaker opponents. Your parries will still result in dropping the sword. You get a boost of fifteen to speed and endurance. You may purchase a C Rank blade.
2. You may use C Rank Kenjutsu Techniques, and make your own D Rank Kenjutsu Techniques. You can successfully parry an opponent at or below your own Kenjutsu Rank. You get a boost of twenty five to speed and endurance stats. You may purchase a B Rank blade.
3. You may use B Rank Kenjutsu Techniques, and make your own C Rank Kenjutsu Techniques. You can successfully block or parry any opponent at or above your own Kenjutsu rank. You get a boost of forty to speed and endurance. You may purchase an A Rank Blade.
4. You may use A Rank Kenjutsu Techniques, and make your own B Rank Kenjutsu Techniques. You can successfully block or parry any opponent at or above your own Kenjutsu Rank. You get a boost of fifty to speed and endurance stats. You may purchase an S Rank blade, but not one with an ability. Swords from the shop are now 80% the original price because the shop owner wants for you to be seen with their merchandise.
5. You may use S Rank Kenjutsu Techniques and make your own A Rank Kenjutsu Techniques. You can successfully block or parry any opponent at or above your own Kenjutsu Rank. You get a boost of sixty to speed and endurance stats. You may purchase an S Rank blade, but not one with an ability. Sword purchases from stores are now at a 50% discount.
*An Exemption to the parry and block rule can be made if your opponent beats you by 20 strength, or if their sword beats your own by two ranks. Blocking in the prior situation would lead to you being knocked off your feet. In the latter it would lead to your weapon breaking, which is potentially lethal in a block.
6. You are known a grand master of Kenjutsu capable of using any sword that you can get your hands on. You may create and use S Rank Kenjutsu Techniques. You may block or parry any blow without exception of your own physical strength. Those of sword potential still apply. You may now have any sword from the shop for free.
- Shurikenjutsu:
- 0. You may still purchase the two most basic Shinobi throwing tools in any quantity you would like. Being a ninja, you are not without skill here from the start. You can throw one Shuriken or Kunai with perfect accuracy. When you throw two they will hit within a foot of the target. Once you throw three or more all accuracy can be forgotten.
1. You are viewed as having above average aim, even for a Shinobi. You may now purchase senbon and your aim has improved. You may now throw two tools, even in separate directions, and hit your mark. At three to four you can hit within a foot of the target. At five or above targets accuracy can be forgotten. Special Shurikenjutsu skills up to D Rank are now available with these listed weapons.
2. You have extremely good aim. You may not start working with chain scythes, shadow shuriken, giant shuriken, and throwing axes with results similar to your use of the kunai and shuriken at stage 0. Shuriken and Kunai will now be thrown with perfect accuracy even if five are being thrown, even in different directions. Up to ten can be thrown and hit within a foot of your target. You may use special Shurikenjutsu up to B Rank with these items.
3. You may throw any tool and it will not miss its mark unless somehow tampered with. Shurikenjutsu skills of any Rank can be learned using these. Throwing items at the shop cost you 80% of the original cost because the merchant wants you to be seen with their product!
- Kyujutsu.:
- 0. You have no place purchasing one of the good bows. You are far more likely to injure yourself than you are to strike your opponent. You may only purchase E Rank bows with practice tips.
1. You have figured it out and you are allowed to purchase the good stuff! Any arrows and and C Rank bows are now allowed! This will be something more similar to a re-curve bow or a long bow. Your shots will land as long as you stay to one arrow and nothing interferes. You may use up to C Rank moves like this.
2. You are getting pretty good! Now you can get any bow Ranked A or below. You may use two arrows without losing accuracy. You may use up to A Rank moves like this.
3. You may purchase any bow and you get an 80% discount on them since you've proved yourself so worthy to the shop owner! He likes you to be seen with is weapons! You can use up to three arrows at a time without a loss of accuracy! You may use any Kyujutsu move.
- Tessenjutsu:
- 0. You may get a fan capable of no ninjutsu or damage to practice with.
1. You may have a fan capable of D Rank Wind Release Ninjutsu damage.
2. You may now have a a fan capable of B Rank Wind Release Ninjutsu damage. Two of the fans you could use at rank one
3. You may now own a fan capable of S Rank Wind Release Ninjutsu damage. At this point normal war fans can be bought at 80% the asking price.
*Each fan will have a different chakra price per its use.
- Bojutsu:
- 0. Any attempts to use this without instruction will result in hitting yourself instead. You will be allowed one at E Rank, which will be little more than a bamboo rod wrapped in foam.
1. You may now use a wooden bo-staff. At least one point in Taijutsu is required to start up in this.
2. You may now use a metal staff. If you also have at least a one in Kenjutsu you may now use a basic polearm.- Polearms :
3. You may use any level of bo staff or polearm and purchases of these items will be at a 50% discount.
- Kugujutsu:
- 0. You cannot hold your chakra string for more than one post and cannot pull anything heavy with them. You will only be allowed puppets at an E Rank, which will be small and nearly unusable in combat. All ten fingers are needed to pull the puppet. Puppets you control will move at a speed of 2.
1. You can now keep your chakra strings going for five posts, use up to a D Rank puppet, make E Rank puppets, and you need at least nine fingers to control each D Rank puppet and five to control each E Rank puppet. Puppets under your control will move at a speed of 10. All of this is harder than it looks on the body, so have a Strength boost of 5.
2. You are more than a hobbyist at this point. You can maintain your Chakra strings for ten posts, use up to a C Rank Puppet, and make D Rank puppets. You can control an E Rank puppet with four fingers, D Rank puppets with seven fingers, and C Rank puppets with nine fingers. Your puppets move at a speed of 20. And you've been using your arms a lot, and you get a strength boost of 15.
3. You are a true puppeteer by the Shinobi standard. Your Chakra strings will last for up to twenty turns, and you can use up to B Rank puppets now and create C Rank puppets. You need two fingers for an E Rank puppet, five fingers for D Rank puppets, seven fingers for C Rank puppets, and ten fingers for B Rank puppets. Your puppets all have a speed of 40. You get a strength boost of 30.
4. You are widely viewed as a magnificent artist! Your Chakra strings will last up to forty turns, and you can use up to A Rank puppets and create up to B Rank puppets. You need one finger to control an E Rank puppet, two fingers to control D Rank puppets, five fingers to control C Rank puppets, seven fingers to control B Rank puppets, and ten fingers to control A Rank puppets. Your puppets all have a speed of sixty. You get a strength boost of fifty.
5. You are called a puppet master. Your Chakra strings will last up to eighty turns, and you can use up to S Rank puppets and build up to A Rank puppets. E, D, and C Rank puppets can be controlled with only one finger. B, and A Rank Puppets can be controlled with five fingers. An S Rank puppet requires all ten fingers. Your puppets all move at a speed of 100. You get a strength boost of sixty.
6. Scratch what was said at 5 and ask Metalica for the song rights, because you are officially the Master of Puppets. Your Chakra strings will last until you end them or run out of Chakra. You can now use a human puppet, build S Rank puppets, build a human puppet, and with the help of a master in Fuuinjutsu and one in Medical Ninjutsu, become a puppet human. Any puppet can be controlled with one finger alone, and at a speed of 130. You have a speed boost of sixty five.
*This may only be learned in Sunagakure no Sato
- Kayakujutsu:
- 0. These exploding tags, gun powder, and other such explosives are viewed as extremely dangerous and at this rank you simply will not be purchasing any of them. You will be allowed firecrackers and the smallest smoke bombs, working with children's toys.
1. The shop owner now respects your skills with the explosives and feels safe in knowing you respect their power. You may buy pouches of gun powder as well as exploding tags.
3. It would be silly to forget that this is a semi-modern forum! At three you may now buy low powered fire arms as well as ammo. I repeat, low powered! We won't be having any Hyuga with sniper rifle or Nuke-nin coming in with a rocket launcher type of scenarios. Low powered bombs will be this way too. As the materials are not cheap and the store owner is a very cautious man, you will get no discounts.
- Fuuinjutsu:
- 0. You aren't sealing anything without some duct tape or some cocking.
1. You may now use the generic sealing/unsealing on things at or below one cubed foot for the cost of an E Rank Jutsu. Going over will mean a cost of 20 Chakra per cubic foot. You get a Chakra Pool boost of 5.
2. You are now capable of sealing things around 5 cubic feet at the cost of a D Rank Jutsu. Going over this size limit will mean 20 Chakra per cubic foot. You can use up to D Rank Fuuinjutsu techniques now as well. You get a Chakra boost of 10.
3. Bounding improvement! You can seal up to 10 cubic feet at the cost of a C Rank Jutsu! You can also use up to B Rank Fuuinjutsu. 20 Chakra per cubic feet will be needed for anything larger. You get a Chakra boost of 15.
4. You are getting freaking awesome at this! You can seal up to twenty cubic feet at the cost of a B Rank Jutsu! Of course, for every extra cubic foot you still need a cost of twenty chakra. You can use A Rank Fuuinjutsu techniques and get a Chakra boost of 20.
5. You're even better now! You can seal up to fifty cubic feet at the cost of an A Rank Jutsu! Every cubic foot after this is 20 extra Chakra. You can use up to A Rank Fuuinjutsu techniques still. You get a Chakra Boost of 25.
6. You are a true master of this art. You can seal up to a whopping 100 cubic feet at the cost of an S Rank Jutsu. For every extra cubic foot you will be required
*Basic sealing even at S Rank cannot be used on a living creature. Specific Jutsu are need to seal human beings and tailed beasts.
