Kirigakure

Kirigakure was one of the five great shinobi villages that existed in the world. The village of Kirigakure no sato meaning the village hidden in the mist existed in the water country. At a point in history, it boasted of the terrible things it allowed within the confines of its walls to the world and was once even a safe haven for Missing Ninja. As time wore on, things of course changed; so much so, the very face of the world as well. The political landscape was what changed first. In the old regime, the economy was governed by the feudal lords and powered by the shinobi and their mission assignments. They oversaw the masses of revenue the water country would make and allocate the funds to the hidden village and some to the country itself. As more and more avenues of making money were opened such as the shipping by sea industries whose new boats were used by all for trade on the water, and desalination inventors that rolled into the country, whose inventions saved the country millions of ryou, the general populace grew less and less tolerant of the shinobi.

The shinobi of Kirigakure's fall was swift and unexpected. The feudal lords who were now backed by their counterparts in other countries, together with their own funding, grew complacent and no longer saw a need for shinobi to be a functioning unit. As a matter of fact, they viewed them as a threat to their new order knowing fully well that the corruption that they planned to carry out would either be hindered or stopped entire by the ninja. And so, one by one, the shinobi started disappearing, and as their numbers dwindled drastically, each of them betrayed by men who they once called comrades. The few that remained could not stand against the forces that the feudal lords gathered together to fight the remnants of a once proud order. Because of this, the shinobi were forced to go into self exile until the time was right to show the world that they would be needed.

Thirty years have passed, and the new order has brought about extraordinary wealth and power among its citizenry. Only those of age would even remember the shinobi and never in a good light. They basked in their amassed wealth and prosperity and gave no care about the actions of the few remaining shinobi. The ninja however, saw the corruption spiraling out of control and there was little wealth sharing among the poor and they decided to step in. Secretly one well versed shinobi took it upon himself to recruit soldiers that once served in the armies of the wealthy, who shared the same dream as he did, and who also could not stand mankind's corruption and greed off of money. And thus these soldiers are now the new age shinobi. Some rose above faster than others and these he appointed to ranks that suited their skill. With Kiri's forces growing, the world is about to change once again.
