Amegakure Empty Amegakure

Post by Kiyoshi Fri Aug 21, 2015 2:07 am

Had you seen the village three years ago you would not recognize the two places. Though still it always rains, and the buildings are mostly dark towers, void of personality, the streets have started to come alive. The economy here is flourishing and there are festivals of every sort going on very regularly. This may be the village of the rain, but it is a far from gloomy place. The village motto is, "The Good Times Just Keep Coming Even Though the Sun Never Will."

Amegakure Empty Re: Amegakure

To most of those who spend their time reading the books of past the village known as Amegakure no Sato would appear as nothing more than a minor shinobi village that never got the international recognition that would be associated with places like Konohagakure no Sato or Sunagakure no Sato, which, very much unlike this specific village, had large nations that already possessed a lot of power both in their military and in their economy backing them up. Due to the size of the village and the population density that single settlement practically was the entire Land of Rain.

In the olden days it was viewed as less than impressive but always respected because the level on which the Shinobi there respected themselves and others who practiced the various arts that when combined would create a ninja. This unique respect for what they were capable of and vulnerable to made the individuals who hailed from the Village Hidden in the Rain especially skilled and having a better attitude than most about struggles or hardships. Due to the low population and terrible economy, this village was never feared during the first age of Shinobi.

Eventually, the academy was forced to close down due to the painful lack of funding that plagued seemingly all of the government institutions within the area. At first some feared that there was some deep running corruption, but that was dispelled when the Mayor was seen dressed as the peasants were giving a speech. Some feared and interjected that it was a political stunt to dispell those rumors, but eventually, he fell terribly ill, and though it was a cheap to heal sickness that was now the type of thing that a child would skip school over and little more, he passed away.

Angry and afraid about the cards that they had been dealt, the citizens, particularly the younger crowd of voters, demanded that somebody new, preferably somebody with a power to their voice, who could make them feel safe even when damning them all further into a Hell of poverty and crime waves that now seemed entirely impossible to escape, and that man was drawn to his niche like a moth to a flame. A man came into the mayoral office who was deeply obsessed with the turning of times, with the motion of the sand in the hour glass, and insisted upon using what little resources that Amegakure no Sato had gathered to further advancements in medical sciences and military sciences. He did this in promising to invade the neighboring Land of Grass so that they could tap into the resources they had gained with their bridges, but in the end, this militarization of the people just lead to a dangerous police force roaming the streets for anything that they perceived as a threat, which is far more vague than it may sound. Children practicing Ninjutsu were killed in the streets, and there parents would soon follow suit if the made the mistake of mourning the losses. They were allowed to kill anybody above the age of fifteen with no fear of a trial or questioning of any sort. This complex was fueled by the fact that only Medical Universities and Military Academies were allowed as secondary education.

This fascist governing body fell to a single Genjutsu that littered the ground with injured bodies of those who had been deemed the best in the classes of the military schools and been given the greatest armor as well as weapons that the technology of the time would allow. Still, it was proved, the machines of man did not yet stand a chance to what a Shinobi warrior was capable of with half of the time and knowledge.

This Shinobi who had cast the Genjutsu declared himself the new Amekage of a new Amegakure no Sato, that would once more, and forever again be, a village for the Shinobi and for the common folk whom the Shinobi are sworn to protect with their lives and with their deaths. This new Amekage was a strange man by the name of Kiyoshi Kubo. He has been the Kage of the village for about six years now. Changes he made have included the construction of a covered road connecting the Lands of Wind and Fire that ran through the village to increase the economy, as well as bringing back the Ninja Academy. He is currently one of the teachers there.
